Aeris vs Sierra Chart for futures charting

Sierra Chart exposes a large, configurable surface. Its documentation distinguishes Base and Integrated service packages, standard and advanced features, supported data/trading services, the Denali Exchange Data Feed, and extensive study configuration. Experienced users can build very specific chartbooks and workflows, but newcomers should expect to read documentation and understand how packages, services, symbols, and data routes fit together.

Aeris takes a narrower early-access approach. The native desktop shell, GPU chart engine, indicators, drawings, and local workspaces are designed as one coherent application. Rithmic futures data uses the trader’s own credentials, Hyperliquid public crypto data is free, and simulated execution controls sit in the same workspace.

Simplicity is not proof of greater capability, and configurability is not inherently unnecessary complexity. The right preference depends on whether the trader values deep control and a mature ecosystem or a smaller guided surface that is still under active construction.

Sierra Chart’s official package page lists Base Standard Package 3 at $26 monthly and Base Advanced Package 5 at $36. Integrated Package 10 is $36, Integrated Advanced Package 11 is $46, and Integrated Advanced MBO Package 12 is $56. External connectivity is part of Integrated packages. Advanced packages add TPO, Numbers Bars, calculated values, market-depth historical graph, and interactive volume profile drawing.

Multi-month purchases receive increasing discounts: the published table shows 15% for three months, 25% for six months, and 35% for twelve months. Real-time exchange data, routing, and service charges can be separate. A useful cost comparison identifies the minimum package that supports the chosen connection and studies, then adds exchange data and broker costs.

Aeris launch plans are Free at $0, Pro at $39 monthly or $29 monthly billed yearly, and Prop at $69 monthly or $49 monthly billed yearly. Billing is not active during early access. Prop’s copier is Coming soon. Rithmic entitlements remain the trader’s responsibility.

Sierra Chart’s advanced packages include released Numbers Bars, volume profile, TPO, and historical market-depth graph features. Its replay and data tooling support detailed study and testing workflows. Exact historical depth and quality still depend on data service, settings, storage, and the instrument.

Aeris’s desktop footprint, CVD, big-trades display, liquidity heatmap, and market replay are Coming soon. Shipped Aeris charts and indicators can support price-based analysis, but they do not currently provide the same released order-flow surface. The order-flow glossary can help a buyer map each tool to its underlying data before comparing screenshots.

If Numbers Bars or market-depth history is essential today, Sierra Chart is the stronger candidate. Revisit the comparison after Aeris ships and documents its planned modules; roadmap names alone do not establish parity.

Sierra Chart’s Integrated packages provide external connectivity to supported trading and data services. Users must verify the current support policy and connection model for their chosen service. A connection can differ in data history, server-side orders, bracket handling, and support responsibility.

Aeris currently connects to Rithmic for futures market data through the user’s account, not for live order routing. Orders go to a simulated venue. Within that scope, Aeris ships a DOM ladder, hotkeys, flatten, kill switch, rule profiles, live distance meters, pre-trade checks, and account locks. Aeris’s explicit prop-rule interface is a current differentiator, but a configured meter cannot supersede a firm’s dashboard. Review whether thresholds include unrealized P&L and commissions, when the session resets, and whether slippage can carry an exit through the limit. Sierra Chart belongs on the shortlist when the requirement includes current live connectivity, advanced studies, Numbers Bars, depth history, replay, or granular control over data and charts. Its documentation and configuration depth reward deliberate setup. Test the exact package and service combination rather than assuming every feature is in the entry tier.

Aeris belongs on the shortlist for a trader who wants a native early-access interface, Rithmic data, a GPU-rendered chart engine, and visible simulated prop-risk guardrails. It does not yet replace Sierra Chart for live routing or advanced order flow. A fair evaluation recreates the same two or three daily tasks in both platforms and records setup time, data behavior, keyboard flow, and recovery after restart.
